Welcome to Refinery by Rachel. By booking any service or accessing this website, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
1. Services Offered
Refinery provides career advisory services including mock interviews, interview preparation coaching, and career strategy consulting. All services are strictly educational in nature and designed to enhance your professional skills and interview performance. These are coaching services only - not employment services, job placement services, or any form of guarantee of employment outcomes.
2. No Guarantees
You are 100% responsible for your progress and results. While the program will guide you toward achieving your career goals, your participation and effort are vital to success. I make no representations, warranties, or guarantees—verbal or written—regarding your performance, results, job offers, interview outcomes, salary outcomes, or career advancement.
Because of the nature of career coaching, results vary significantly between clients. By purchasing, you acknowledge and agree that:
There is no guarantee you will reach your goals as a result of these services
There is no guarantee you will receive job offers, interviews, or career advancement
You assume all risk associated with implementing advice or strategies provided
Comments about potential outcomes are expressions of opinion only and not promises
Past client results do not guarantee or predict future results
Individual results depend entirely on your effort, market conditions, employer decisions, and factors beyond the control of Refinery by Rachel
3. Your Responsibilities
You agree to:
Arrive prepared for scheduled sessions
Provide accurate information about your background and goals
Complete any assigned preparation work
Maintain professional conduct during all interactions
Not record sessions without prior written consent
Make your own decisions regarding your career, job applications, and interviews
4. Booking and Payment
All sessions must be booked through the online scheduling system
Payment is required in full and in advance of all scheduled sessions
Prices are subject to change; you'll be charged the rate in effect when you book
All fees are in USD
You're responsible for providing accurate payment information and promptly updating any changes
5. Cancellation and Rescheduling
Cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours before your session for a full refund or reschedule option
Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice forfeit the session fee
No-shows forfeit the full session fee
Package sessions must be used within 6 months of purchase or they expire with no refund
Late arrivals will not receive extended session time
6. Refund Policy
Mock Interview Sessions: Full refund only if cancelled 48+ hours in advance with written notice to rachel@refinerybyrachel.com
Multi-session packages: Refunds available for unused sessions only, minus any discount received on package pricing
No refunds after a session has been completed
All refund requests must be submitted in writing to rachel@refinerybyrachel.com
Refunds, if approved, will be processed within 30 days
7. Confidentiality
Strict confidentiality is maintained regarding your personal information and session content, except as required by law. Anonymized case studies may be used for marketing purposes.
8. Testimonials
If you choose to provide a testimonial, you grant permission to use it for marketing purposes. You may request removal of your testimonial at any time by contacting rachel@refinerybyrachel.com.
9. Professional Boundaries
These services are strictly career coaching and educational consultation. Refinery does not provide:
Legal advice (cannot review employment contracts or provide legal counsel)
Financial advice (cannot provide investment guidance or tax advice)
Mental health services (cannot provide therapy or clinical support)
You are advised to seek appropriate licensed professionals for any legal, financial, or mental health services you may require.
10. Intellectual Property
All materials, frameworks, and content provided during sessions remain the property of Refinery by Rachel. You may use these materials for your personal career development but may not reproduce, distribute, or commercialize them.
11. Communications
All booking is conducted through the online scheduling platform. Communication occurs via email and text message. By providing your contact information, you consent to receive service-related communications at the email address and phone number you provide. Standard messaging rates may apply.
12. Conduct
Services may be cancelled without refund if you:
Engage in harassment, abuse, threatening behavior, or discrimination
Violate any applicable laws or regulations
Misrepresent your identity or credentials
Record sessions without written consent
13. Third-Party Services
The website and booking system utilize third-party platforms. Refinery has no control over and assumes no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party services.
14. Modifications
Refinery reserves the right to modify services or these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with the revision date. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Refinery shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including loss of profits, employment opportunities, or other losses, whether or not advised of the possibility of such damages.
Total liability for all claims shall not exceed the lesser of: (a) the amount you paid in the thirty (30) days immediately preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred dollars ($100).
16. Disclaimer
Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. Refinery makes no warranties that services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that results will meet your expectations.
17. Dispute Resolution
Before taking formal action, you agree to contact rachel@refinerybyrachel.com with a written description of the dispute. Both parties will attempt good faith resolution for 30 days.
If disputes cannot be resolved informally, they shall be resolved by individual binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Commercial Arbitration Rules in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.
You waive your right to:
Have disputes heard in court
Have disputes decided by a judge or jury
Participate in a class action lawsuit
Claims must be filed within one (1) year after they arise or be forever barred.
18. Indemnification
You agree to hold harmless Refinery by Rachel from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:
Your use of services
Your violation of these terms
Any employment decisions or outcomes resulting from your participation in services
19. Governing Law
These terms are governed by North Carolina law. For disputes not subject to arbitration, you consent to the jurisdiction of courts in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.
20. Entire Agreement
These terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Refinery by Rachel. No verbal statements modify these terms unless in a written amendment.
